Stain Fighting Secrets

Stain Fighting Secrets

As uniform experts, we see different types of stains every day. It is our job to remove stains while using cleaning treatments that maintain the life of your uniform. Our stain removal process involves an industrial strength cleaning process, but we happen to know some handy secrets that you can use every day. Through our uniform rental program, we take care of the stains on your work uniforms.  But what happens when you get a stain on your favorite shirt when you are out to dinner or in the “man cave” with the guys working on that fixer-upper you bought?  Try some of our stain removal tips:

  • Ink — Apply some hairspray and launder as usual.
  • Rust on White Shirts — Use some lemon juice and salt on the stain, then place out in the sun to bleach. Launder as usual.
  • Grease — Sprinkle talcum powder on the wet stain, let dry and brush off any remaining powder. Launder as usual.
  • Blood — Apply some 3% hydrogen peroxide on the stain. Let it bubble, rinse, repeat. Launder as usual.

Moisture Wick: Why for Work wear?

As a garment expert, Service Uniform provides uniforms that utilize Touch Tex Technology for the benefit of their customers and their uniform program.

Touch Tex Technology ensures clean garments with each wash, along with moisture wicking and stain releasing technology that keeps your employees looking fresh and clean, even after a long day of hard work.

Picture this, your customer visits their local auto repair shop to get an oil change and check that noise that keeps coming from your car’s front passenger side. They hand over their keys to their 2-month old, leather-seated “baby” only to see their mechanic walk over with a shirt soaked with sweat, grease stains, and maybe a little washer fluid. If only Touch Tex was there, they would feel some relief. If only a moisture wicking fabric helped keep him cool and dry, they wouldn’t work up a sweat. If only his shirt was made out of a stain releasing fabric that made those soiled and permanent oil stains disappear from their worried thoughts of their new car and its precious leather seats.

No matter what your industry, you can bring relief to your customers by having a professional appearance while still diving in to do the hard work. Let Service Uniform find the best fit uniform for you.

Floor Mats Improve Safety

Floor Mats Improve Safety

Your workplace should be safe and clean, even from the smallest of accidents. Slips and falls can easily turn into a work related injuries and affect any age of worker at any time. Over 30% of worker injuries are related to slip and fall type situations (Wausau Insurance Co.). Prevent easy accidents (and embarrassments) by having proper floor matting near each entrance of your building.

Help your employees work in a comfortable environment by providing proper floor matting in jobs that require long hours on employees’ feet. Anti-fatigue mats improve the ergonomic quality of working conditions, reducing discomfort by as much as 50% (Center of Ergonomics at University of Michigan). Keep your employees productive and comfortable with floor mats, preventing physical conditions and injuries from developing.

Floor Mats Reduce Labor Costs

Floor Mats Reduce Labor Costs

Recent studies show that every dollar spent keeping soil out of a building will save 10 dollars in removing the soil once it is inside (Cleaning and Maintenance Management). Cost efficiency is key at reducing your bottom line. Floor mat rentals are a small decision that has great return.

With over a third of all custodial time being devoted to floor care, prevention and reducing the amount of dirt and debris spread all over the building will reduce your overall cleaning times (National Executive Housekeepers Association). Dirty floors contribute to dust and dirt in the air that pollute the indoor air quality, the air that you and your employees spend breathing and working in over 40 hours each week. Indoor air is found to be up to 70 times more polluted than outdoor air (Environmental Protection Agency). Dust and other allergens in the air contribute to poor employee health, allergies, headaches, and more.

Keep your workspace safe with clean floor mats while lessening your custodial time.
