Why Are Occupation Costumes Popular?

Every year we see a lot of familiar Halloween costumes like a ghost or a doctor. Now, it makes sense why people would dress up as something spooky like a ghost, but a doctor?

Why do you think people like to wear occupation costumes?

Service Uniform

Everyone has their theory, but at Service Uniform we have it figured out. It’s because people respect those in a uniform.

Think about it, people like to dress as doctors for Halloween because they get to put on the alter-ego of someone who saves lives. How cool would it be to save lives?

Although not everyone can be a doctor in everyday life, a uniform rental program can make your employees feel like heroes and your company will gain respect from customers.

We know that people respect those who wear uniforms because they signify professionalism, hard work, and integrity.  A customer is going to respect your company if the employees are wearing uniforms, more than the companies that allow their employees to wear jeans and a t-shirt. We know that it’s important for employees to reflect the image of the company that they work for, so we’re dedicated to creating the right look.

If you want to gain respect for your company, contact Service Uniform today to set up a uniform rental program that’s right for you. If you’re already our customer, tell us how great it feels to be respected.

Happy Boss’s Day

Have you learned a lot at your current job? Do feel excited to come to work every day? If you have a question, does it get answered? If you answered yes then you may have one awesome boss! Wednesday October 16th is Boss’s Day and we at Service Uniform want to remind you to thank your supervisors and managers.

Happy Boss's Day from Service Uniform

Boss’s Day started in 1958 with Patricia Haroski. Patricia was a secretary who worked for her father at State Farm Insurance. She chose her father’s birthday as the date for the holiday and registered with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Boss’s Day has traditionally been a day for employees to thank their bosses for being kind and fair throughout the year. Some people like to give their bosses cards, certificates or flowers. Writing a personal note about how much of an inspiration they’ve been to you or what you have learned while working with them is also a great way to celebrate.

So what do you do if you’re having a hard time with your boss? Well, don’t forget that they’re people too, so take Boss’s Day as an opportunity to improve your relationship with them. Take your boss out for coffee or lunch and try to understand their position and workload. Whatever you do, don’t act fake or force excitement. Boss’s day is not the appropriate time to try and get a promotion or a raise. Being personable and honest is a great way to stand out.

Don’t Forget Your Jacket!

Just like your mom, we don’t want you going to work without your jacket! You might catch your death of a cold. It’s easier to take layers off than to be stuck without anything. And, what else did she used to say? Oh yes, we once knew a kid who didn’t listen to his mother and he got frostbite on his ears!

Ok, so maybe we aren’t as adamant as your mother, but we really do think now is the time to talk to a representative about the jackets we offer. Winter will be here before you know it and you don’t want to be stuck outside in the wee hours of the morning freezing.

Service Uniform offers team jackets

The solid team jackets are our most popular jacket for the season. These jackets come with a knit collar, cuffs and waistband to keep warmth inside and chill out. They are also compatible with the Zip-In/Zip-Out Liner for extra warmth and comfort. The outside shell is made of materials that lets your body breathe but also keeps the cold out.

We’re very familiar with the cold weather here in Colorado, which is why we picked the best jackets for you. At Service Uniform, we’re dedicated to creating the right uniform rental program for you and your company. From Pueblo to Fort Collins and all the surrounding areas, there are over 22,000 individuals along the Colorado Front Range wearing uniforms we provide – which means we know what we’re doing.

So don’t make us tell you again, it’s a bad idea to leave the house without a warm jacket. If you do it again, we’ll tell your mother.

Why Do We Wear Costumes On Halloween?

Halloween is an old tradition that almost every household participates in. But how did it start and why do we wear costumes?

Service Uniform

It’s hard to figure out the exact origins of Halloween, but if you look online you’ll find stories from ancient pagan, Celtic, Catholic and Roman traditions. One thing all of those traditions have in common is that Halloween is a thing of superstition.

Take the ancient Celts for example. One theory explains that Halloween originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, where people would light bonfires and dress up in costumes to scare off roaming ghosts and spirits. They believed that on Halloween, ghosts came back to Earth and would haunt anyone who left their homes. So they wore masks in hopes that the ghosts would mistake them for other spirits.

Well it’s 2013, and there aren’t many people left who believe in ancient spirits. Today people wear costumes for fun and amusement.

At Service Uniform, that makes perfect sense to us. Costumes are like uniforms, they make you feel like a different person. Superhero costumes are popular this time of year because people love to feel powerful and in control. Well, shouldn’t you feel like that every day?

We don’t believe in ghosts, but we do believe that a good uniform rental program should empower you and your company. We’re in the business of renting professional garments and related services to established companies because we’re good at it. We know that our customers demand superior quality products that make them feel like superheroes.
